Settings → Psyche

Psyche gives the assistant a character: one identity, forged once in Psyche's own ritual and imported here, that changes how it speaks and never what it knows. The rail entry is Psyche; the page subtitle reads Give the assistant a character, on top of its memory. Off by default.

There is no license, GPU or platform condition on this page. While the configuration loads it says Loading…; if it cannot be read, the page still renders, with no personality and the error at the top.

What a personality changes

The first panel says what you are about to switch on:

Its voice: tone, rhythm, what it notices first, how bluntly it disagrees, how much warmth it shows. An INTJ and an ENFP answer the same question with the same facts and a different temperature.

What it never changes: the facts. A personality grants no knowledge and no sources, and it cannot loosen the rules about what may be claimed or cited — those are stated after it and win any conflict.

Voice, never facts

The personality is placed in the assistant's prompt before the answering rules, and those rules win any conflict. A persona cannot make the assistant claim what it cannot back, and it adds no memory of its own.

The active personality

This card exists only once a soul has been imported. It shows the soul's name (or its archetype when it has no name, and the archetype as a muted suffix when both exist), the line Imported from Psyche — full identity (MBTI, OCEAN, relational protocol)., and, when the soul carries them, its five Big Five scores on one line, each behind its letter: O, C, E, A, N (for example O 72 · C 55 · E 31 · A 64 · N 20).

  • A switch with no text label turns the personality on or off without discarding it. The subtitle says it is off by default.
  • Forget this personality clears the soul.
Forget has no confirmation

Forget this personality acts on the click. To silence a personality you may want back, use the switch instead.

Import a soul forged in Psyche

Psyche compiles a whole identity — archetype, Big Five, how you want to be answered — into a soul.json. Import it here and the assistant speaks with it.

  1. Forge the soul in Psyche

The What is Psyche? link opens Psyche's site, where the identity is built and exported as a soul.json. Export it after crystallization, otherwise the file carries no personality prompt (see the errors below).

  2. Choose a soul.json

Click Choose a soul.json. The native file dialog opens, filtered to .json files (the filter is named "Soul", in English). The button reads Reading… while the file is read.

  3. Check the card

On success, the active personality card appears above, with the name, archetype and scores the file carried. Use its switch if you only wanted the soul loaded, not active.

Import errors appear in a red banner:

Switching how it thinks

The last panel has no control; it explains where one you might look for lives:

The Soul is who the assistant is — one identity, forged once. How it approaches a given question is a separate control: the cognitive lens (the sixteen archetypes) lives in the chat's quick rail, next to the thinking mode, because it is meant to be switched often.

So: the personality is set here, once; the lens is picked in the chat, per question.
