Mnemosyne OS user guide

Mnemosyne OS is a sovereign, local-first memory operating system. Your memories live in vaults on your own machine. The engines that read and consolidate them run locally. You stay the only judge of what enters, moves, or leaves your memory.

This guide teaches the OS one engine at a time, step by step, with a screenshot or a short clip for every gesture.

Where to start:

  • New here? Install the app, then follow Getting started in order. It ends with your first remembered conversation.
  • Already running? Read Vaults to see where your memory lives, or jump straight to the engine you are using in The engines.
  • Looking for an app? Cartridges covers MnemoHub and the built-in cartridges.

The official addresses​

Mnemosyne OS is published by XPACEGEMS LLC, and it lives at three addresses:

  • mnemosyne-os.io is the product site: what the OS is, the download, the MnemoHub store, and the Discord.
  • mnemosyne-os.com is the site for organizations: enterprises, research labs and public institutions, where the questions a team asks before deploying are answered.
  • docs.mnemosyne-os.io, this guide, in English, French and Spanish.
