My machines, linking your computers together
My machines links your own computers that run Mnemosyne OS. Once paired, each computer shows the other's agents on its board. A computer can also draw the pictures the others ask for.
Each computer keeps its own license. The two computers talk through the Mnemosyne OS P2P, on your network.
Before you start
- Install the same version of Mnemosyne OS on both computers.
- On each one, turn P2P on in Settings › P2P.
- Add each computer as a contact of the other, on the same page.
Pair two computers
Open Settings › Agents › My machines on one of the two computers. Pick the other one in the list and press "Pair this computer".
A 6-digit code shows on both screens. Compare them. On the second computer, press "Same code: accept" only when both codes match. The request expires after 5 minutes.
Each computer then lists the other, marked as connected or not connected.
See the other computer's agents
The agents herdr runs on the other computer appear on your board. Their card carries the computer's name, for example "Office PC · claude". From the card you can answer an agent that waits, and stop it. Stopping takes two presses.
When the other computer goes off, its cards stay. They say for how many minutes it has not answered, and their buttons go away.
Let another computer draw your pictures
On the computer with the graphics card, tick "This computer draws the pictures my other machines ask for". It draws with its local image engine, which must be installed in Settings › Images.
On another computer, under "Ask a machine for a picture", describe the picture and press "Send". The task line says where it stands.
- If the drawing computer is off, the task waits. The line says since when. It leaves as soon as the computer is back.
- The picture comes back as a new file in your generations. "Open" shows it.
- A drawing stops after 15 minutes. A failure says its reason in one sentence.
Remove a computer
Press "Remove" next to the computer, then once more to confirm. If the other computer is on, it removes this one too. If it was off, it shows on its return that the other computer forgot it. Remove it there as well.
